Vivac Health was started by Sammie Stephens, an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with over 27 years’ experience in the healthcare field in both clinical and administrative roles.
Hello. I’m Sammie Stephens.
As an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, I’ve worked inside the healthcare system caring for patients.
I have also been in your shoes as a family caregiver trying to get healthcare services for my ill and aging loved ones.
I created Vivac Health to help family caregivers, like you, get the care their loved ones need.
Vivac is a Spanish word for “Bivouac” which means a temporary shelter for soldiers or mountaineers.
We chose this name because people dealing with an unexpected health diagnosis or a chronic disease often describe themselves as “fighting a battle” or “climbing a mountain.”
We are here to provide shelter by offering advocacy and consulting services to family caregivers.
We exist to help family caregivers understand and navigate the healthcare system so their loved ones can get the care they need.
